Expensive cars and resale value

When it comes to ultra-luxury and luxury car leasing, there's no doubt that the best deals are the cars that hold their value. With this in mind, let's highlight some facts about residual value that continue to apply to luxury leasing.

The most important factor when it comes to car resale value is the public's perception of a brand, not its reliability ratings in quality surveys. Take the Jaguar for example: it is consistently rated as a quality car, but due to the public's questionable perception of reliability, it depreciates significantly at the end of the lease term.

More technology and other innovative features don't necessarily mean a better car. By the time your car is two years old, better and cheaper systems will make laser-guided cruise control, navigation systems and built-in cell phones obsolete. Look for performance features such as an automatic transmission, power windows and all-wheel drive to increase the vehicle's value on the used car market.

Used car buyers are less likely to look at luxury cars with big incentives. They are considered questionable in quality and reliability.
